SCHOLA GREGORIANA BRATISLAVENSIS was founded in 2002. Its activities are aimed to semiologic interpretation of Gregorian chant according to the oldest semiologic resources from 9 th -11 th century and to presentation of Gregorian chants originated in Slovak liturgical tradition from 13 th -15 th century. In 2005 – 2007 the schola was engaged in recording of three Bratislava antiphonaries from the end of 15 th century. The recordings have been released in CD in cooperation with Slovak national library in Martin and with University library in Bratislava.

The recording was conducted as a part of UNESCO world project “World´s Memory” in Slovakia.

The Medieval Slovak manuscripts were thus for the first time presented to the cultural and professional audiences both home and abroad. The recording took place in St. Ladislav Chapel in Primatial Palace in Bratislava.

Schola Gregoriana Bratislavensis was the co-founder of International Gregorian Chant Festival in Bratislava. It is the only festival of its kind in Slovakia and one of very few events in Europe that are aimed to semiologic interpretation of Gregorian chant according to the oldest semiologic resources from 9 th -11 th century. In a short time the festival grew in an important cultural event of Bratislava and Slovakia.

The schola has performed in several masses with Gregorian chant broadcasted from Jesuit church in Bratislava by radio Lumen. One of the schola´s concert highlights has been the participation in Gregorian chant festival In Canto Gregoriano in Florence (2011, 2008) where the schola presented with success also the chants from the Bratislava antiphonary.
